Here's how Bopo looks on a page. With the Safari extension on, select a word to see a short definition and save it.

Every word keeps its sentence

Your library keeps each word with its sentence, source page, and date. Save a word again and the new sentence joins the old ones. Sort them into Learning and Known as you go.

Review a word in the sentence where you found it. Reveal the answer to see its Zhuyin, or use Bopo Plus to export your words and sentences to Anki.

Less Zhuyin as you learn

With Bopo Plus, hide Zhuyin for words you mark Known. You can also choose a reading level to hide Zhuyin for common characters and focus on the ones you're still learning.

Zhuyin runs down the right of each character with its tone mark, as in books for young readers in Taiwan, or above it if you prefer.

Standard readings

Bopo uses Taiwanese Mandarin readings, with corrections based on Taiwan's Ministry of Education dictionary. It looks up whole words to distinguish readings such as 銀行 and 長大.

Read news, blogs, and social feeds with Zhuyin. Bopo adds it as you scroll, and you can turn it off for individual sites.
